The mists curl around the hooves of their horses as the Silver Grimms journey through the forest. Their guide Aglaron seems a shadow as he slips through the trees ahead of the party. Glorion seems lost deep in thought and has said almost nothing since the group's stay in the elven capitol. Besides the chuffing of their horses and the clop clop of hooves on the forest floor, silence seems to envelop the party.

Key reigns up beside Glorian and reaches over and swats Glorian on the arm. She rides along in silence for a minute before speaking. “You okay? Anything we can do to chear you up? Should I find you something to fight?” She shifts to look over each shoulder looking to see what kind of trouble she can start. When she doesn’t seem to find what she’s looking for she hops off her horse and strides toward the darkness pulling her sword, looking for trouble. “Who’s with me?!” She shouts as she walks away.

A hiss and then a small pebble bounces off of Keyleth's head as Rabbit rides up behind the group, bringing her horse to a standstill beside Glorion and Keyleth's horses.
"Don't go on foot in the forest, don't go into it at all."
The grump look that Rabbit carried with her since leaving the city had faded into a more concerned look. Her eyes darting into the direction of the forest that she had started going towards.
"By Malyk how did you survive on your own longer then six weeks" the gruffness in her voice was betrayed by some concern.

Key stops and turns around rubbing her head. “I did it to elicit a reaction. I was at least partly successful. Besides, I can handle myself. Or at least run fast enough in the right direction.” She puts her hands on her hips and smiles up at Rabbit. “I guess my attempt to lighten the mood has failed though.” She raises her eyebrows at her companions as she strides back toward her horse.

Glorion chuckles grimly at Keyleth as she starts for the forest’s interior. “I wouldn’t head too far in if I were you. I’ve known these woods since I was a boy and even I would hesitate to step foot off the main paths without backup.” He hesitates and looks back towards Rabbit before continuing “I owe all of you an apology. I should have made it clear what you would be walking into should you choose to accompany me. Politics can be… interesting at the best of times. Lapatte I owe you the biggest apology. I know you are not in need of protection but I still failed you in every way. You were there at MY request. If it had not been for me I do not doubt you would have killed every one of your attackers. I was your weakness. I cannot begin to make amends for placing you in that situation.”
Glorion shifts uncomfortably in his saddle and continues onwards for several moments before turning back to Keyleth. “You I don’t even know where to begin with. You were thrown into a very chaotic without even so much as a thank you. So I’ll say it now: Thank you. I do not wish you to feel obligated by the situation in which we find ourselves. If it is your desire I will seek an annulment of this betrothal; I would not wish for anyone to be beholden to someone they do not favor. As for the rest of you, thank you for putting up with my family's shenanigans.”

Key climbs back onto her horse and reaches over to look Glorian square in the eye. “We have our differences but we are friends Glorian,” She pauses. “No, you are all more than that to me. Your family, I could have protested, but I did what I did because I thought it would help you. Seek an annulment if that is what you want. I dont feel trapped and I dont want you to feel obligated. Who knows, this may make us better friends.” She reaches over and graps Glorians had tighly for a moment and then lets go looking away. She moves her horse over to make room for Rabbit to ride near Glorian.

Glorion laughs out loud as Key moves aside. "To be perfectly honest I'd rather be married to a close friend than endure the endless parade of dozens, perhaps hundreds of 'worthy heiresses' that my mother would subject me to upon my return. I am still half-considering strapping the damn flag on a horse and sending it back in my stead."

Key chuckles a bit maniacally. “I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather ride back into the city in triumph. So we can rub it under your brothers nose. I may be to lowly to blood him, but this I can do. You’ll be a hero to your people.”
She looks around at her companions. “Maybe Ive said to much.”

Luke sits on his horse, nose in a book of Sekmetian wisdom. He's seemingly lost interest in the politics in play, and is instead his focus has shifted to his religious duties.

Rabbit continues forward beside Glorion and Key, watching Glorion as he talks. Her demeanor is quiet and pensive
"You owe me no apologies Glorion. I would do this for you, or for any of my friends here."
She glances over at Luke and then to Keyleth and smiles softly. Her gaze returns to Glorion.
"I was very aware of my situation, which would have been the same whether or not you are royalty. The only difference is if you were not royalty others would have tried. Either way I would not have endangered you, or the rest of my friends. Besides, I will not kill a human or elf. Those were sleep poison coated arrows I used at the manor and the pirates."
Her smile becomes more rigid. and she glances once more at Glorion as she pulls her horse back to where Luke is.

“The difference being that you were the only one that they would have tried it on, simply because of your lineage. I also think Glorian may be feeling the way he does because he/we didn’t think to set something up to protect you better. I’m feeling the same way. It should have been something that we considered before leaving you alone. Not that I think you are incapable of defending yourself.” Key’s back goes ridged and all the humor drains from her face.

In an attempt to reassure her friends, Rabbit gives a small smile and says:
"There is an old saying where I grew up, Dro zhah bistaur taga natha verve velvel"
She leans over and touches Key on the arm gently.
"Life is shorter than a long knife. What I went through was nothing compared to a normal night in a drow city, when. you are at war with another house. I have lived far longer then most of my people, you don't generally retire in the Underdark. Lolth will collect me in at some point. Until then I enjoy each day."
Realizing her joke probably wasn't as funny to people not from the Underdark she once again pats her arm. "I have made my peace long ago, I am here to make sure the rest of you live longer, that is my job."[/font] RABBIT

Key looks a bit perplexed at first but smiles at Rabbit. “Your right, I need to learn to let things go. That sort of thing has never been easy for me . Maybe I should start meditating more.” The look on her face is introspective now but she still has one ear on the forest around her and her companions.

Glorion turns his face towards Rabbit and studies her with a hard gaze for several moments. "We were not in a Drow city. You were an honored guest, not a rival house member at war with them. You are nosse - family. Tell me, what does a Drow family do when one of their members is struck by a warrior from another family for all to see? We are not your people or you would still be with them. We must be better than them. Our burden is arrogance, but our charge is pride. We must be a shining example for the world to aspire to. That... that was not a shining example of anything but stupidity and pride."
The paladin pulls his horse to an abrupt stop near an opening in the forest canopy. As Keyleth pulls him aside he listens intently before taking her hand in his and looking back to the group. "If you don't mind, I would like a private word with my betrothed. Please give us a moment, we will return shortly. This is as safe a place as any in the forest." With that said the two of them disappear together into the mist in the span of a few moments.
Minutes pass, seeming to drag into an eternity...

Aglarond motions and two elven rangers slip out of the darkness, across the trail and back into the woods following the impetuous prince. Serious looks on their faces as they ready weapons as they leave.
Rabbit notices the tension of the guards following Glorion and pulls herself back to a position watching over Jack and Luke, ensuring the lesser number of elven escorts present doesn't leave them vulnerable. RABBIT
