Artherien... that was the name of the Elenren prince, and one he had to get used to. It was partly why he had stopped referring to himself as Glorion, although it made him smile that sometimes his party members still did. Artherien wiped sweat from his brow and dipped a scrubbing brush back into the bucket full of seawater. The water turned a frothy pink as the blood ran off the brush into the bucket. He sighed and looked over the man next to him, barely older than a boy, also scrubbing the deck. Never having been on the receiving end of a cleanup detail he was shocked at just how much blood there was. The boy next to him had protested of course when he picked the brush up and knelt down, but the Paladin gave him a Look. He continued to scrub and scrub, determined to get every trace of blood out of the deck.

Key wanders up from below decks with the new map of the island and some ink and pens. She looks around for a spot where she can work with a view of the island. Finding the perfect spot she heads in that direction taking care to avoid the wet planks. She pats Arthurian on the shoulder as she walks by and sets herself up. She begins filling in the map, adding more detail as she sees it. After a while sporadic curses can be heard from her direction as she scowels at her attempt at art.

Rabbit walks onto the deck, one of her satchels over her shoulder. She nods to Artherien and Keyleth as she kneels over a portion of the mess on deck that hasn't been cleaned up. Her face frozen in concentration as she reaches into her satchel, pulls out a piece of white cotton fabric. Whispering in drow she dips it into the remains of the Erinyes blood, the white fabric becoming pink and then crimson, then almost black. She pulls it off the deck and places it in a small glass jar, sealing it with a wax top. She sits back, breathing hard, a small sheen of perspiration on her face. RABBIT

Key nods back to Rabbit and stops to watch her as she sops up the blood on the deck. Her eyebrows wrinkle in concern. “Are you okay Rabbit?” She sets down her pen absently and her body prepares to rise to go to her friend.

Artherien paused scrubbing and sat back on his heels. He nodded to Rabbit and peered at her for a long moment with his new too-blue eyes. There was no judgement in those eyes, not anymore, merely mild concern. She had been quiet since the ritual, and that he understood. She would talk when she was ready, and he wouldn't be the one to push her.
Sitting back had shifted his muscles into an uncomfortable position. He grimaced and flexed his shoulders, now covered in fine pink healing scars. Luke had done an amazing job, but the she-devil's blades had been poisoned and she had cut deep. The paladin hadn't been prepared for her, he knew. She had bypassed his blocks and parries effortlessly, striking with precision and deadly malice. He might have even been afraid, he couldn't remember. Keyleth hadn't been afraid he knew. His wife had rescued him after he once again rushed heedlessly into danger.
The sword in her hand seemed to move of it's own will, or Corellon's he supposed. Without his connection to the Divine he felt naked, vulnerable, and he knew the devil had felt that too. He smiled and flexed his hand a little, gauntlets placed against the deck pinpricks of angry pink skin remained from where the sword had "defended" itself. It seemed that she no longer needed him to defend her, either on the battlefield or in court. Regardless, he would still be there, however she needed.
Satisfied with this, he spared a quick smile back over his shoulder at Keyleth before bending back over and resuming his scrubbing.

Rabbit seems confused for a moment at the attention. She looks around momentarily and a small embarrassed smile comes to her lips. "I am sorry to alarm you. I am fine, I am just not used to performing some of the hunting rituals without my marks. Definitely a little more effort is required then I am used to.”
Realizing what she is holding in her hands she shrugs sheepishly and motions with the wax sealed bottle "I was collecting the erinyes blood so I can track who summoned it if we need that later. I am sorry if that caused concern."
While she is talking, she seems to be keeping her now fixed teeth hidden from view.

Key turns her whole body to face Rabbit. Her eyes flick down to her husband as he stops to flex in discomfort. Satisfied of his well being she smiles back at him then her eyes lift to Rabbit once more. She takes in her friend in a long look and smiles. “Im glad your okay. If there is anything I can do I hope you’ll let me know.” She pauses, thinking over her words before speaking again. “You don’t need to feel self conscious. We love all of you.” She lifts her voice to carry “Dont we?”

The Paladin didn't even look up from the deck at first, waving a hand and dismissing the notion entirely before going back to scrubbing. The boy next to him got up to dump one of the buckets overboard and Artherien smiled at the lad. He had no idea what his name was and resolved to learn the names of every crew member before Port Said. He tossed the brush in the bucket and turned towards Rabbit, cocking his head to one side in an almost avian gesture of curiosity.
"You've been through a rough transition. Haven't really had time to adjust to that I suspect. As someone who has also been through a rough transition, I know you have to deal with that on your own. However, we are here to support and we have your back. You're family. Also," he motioned to the vial in her hands "you've proven your worth. You don't have to perform any rituals you don't want to for our sake, especially if they might bring up painful memories. You can be whatever you want to. Blank slate."
As the boy came back over, having dredged up a fresh bucket of seawater, Artherien smiled at Rabbit one more time and said "The new teeth are beautiful. Let them out once and awhile." He then turned to the boy and held a hand out for a brush. "Tell me lad, what's your name? I'm Artherien. This here is Rabbit, and that's Keyleth over there."

Rabbit watches her two friends as they talk, a ripple of emotion across her face ending in a tight smile. She gives Key a nod and the smile softens, "Thank you my sister. I truly do appreciate it. I don't think you could ever know how much that means to me. You, Luke, Artherien, and Jack have accepted me without blinking. It is what helped me decide I could risk removing the tattoos.”
She turns her eyes to Artherien, something dark in them as she thinks. "Thank you Artherien, I truly appreciate you and everything around you. I will be here for any help you need in your transition. But you are wrong about one thing. There is no such thing as a clean slate. You cannot start fresh, and you cannot undo what you have done. However...."
Rabbit hesitates thinking and looks back towards the crew entrance to the lower decks as if waiting for someone. "You can find something to focus on, and try and offset what you did. I may not ever be able to come back to an even starting point, but I will do my best to claw my way there until my last breath."
She continues to watch the entrance to the lower decks for a few more moments before returning her gaze to Artherien and Key. She steps forward and kisses Key on her forehead. She leans over and whispers heavily in her ear. "Usstan orn el whol dos ussta valsharess, nindel orn tlu ussta duul'ssom dal nindol dro."

Key listens to the two speak, a look of inward thought ok her face. She looks back and forth between the two before speaking. “Weather or not you believe in a black slate, what happens after and how you recover is what is important. I” she nods at her two companions “if I were to experience the difficulties that you both have, would choose to embrace the mistakes of the pace in order to make peace with them. Then work to make sure they never get repeated. That’s all we can do right?” She looks again to her friends then seams to realize what she said and blush. “Wow, sorry, forget I said that. I have no business preaching to either of you. Lets change the subject. What was that drow phrase you just spoke Rabbit?”

Rabbit steps back and listens to Key, watching her expression. Flickering emotions across her face to finally settle on a softness in her eyes towards her friend. Rabbit gives a small nod as if making a decision.
Rabbit steps up closer to Key. Rabbit’s body swaying slightly suggestively as she moves. The more short feminine appearance of Drow female acting as a stark contrast to the tall regalness of Key’s High elf blood. She moves up close to Key, her eyes never wavering as she softly runs her hand down Key’s arm.
The young cabin boy who was about to speak with Artherien let’s out a squeak at Key and Rabbit and quickly bolts away, knocking over a pail of bloody water.
Rabbit bursts out laughing at the site and gives Key a wink “Are you sure you want to know what I said dear sister, after all, all Drow are deviants or didn’t you hear that.”

Key goes very still never taking her eyes from the smaller woman. When Rabbit laughs she relaxes a bit. Her eyes shift for a moment in Arthurian’s direction to see what his reaction might be. Her eyes move back to Rabbit. “I do want to know what you said.” Her mouth turns up at the corner. “Your important to me, but so is my husband, so before we say or do anything else I think it would be wise to get his input.” She lifts a questioning eyebrow at Rabbit.

Artherien smiled gamely at the two before returning to scrubbing the deck. Good lord did he need to study that book. The trick he had promised Nightscale was simple, a spell taught to Elven children. It sure would come in handy now, he thought. The paladin muttered darkly as he chastised himself for forgetting it and put his sore back into scrubbing furiously. There was so much blood. His hands were stained with it, it covered the deck and his clothes, ran down through his short hair. Traces of darker liquid interspersed with the blood as he cleaned. He supposed that was the poison from the she-devil. His hands shook but he put the fear out of his mind and kept scrubbing, scrubbing, scrubbing...

Key rolls her eyes and gestures to Rabbit in a ‘just a sec’ kind of motion. She strides over to Arthurian and kneels down taking the bloody scrub brush from his hands. Tossing it aside, she grans his face in both hands and kisses him hard on the mouth. After a moment she releases him and looks him in the eyes. “Do I have your attention? Good.” She strides back to Rabbit. She grabs her face in the same manner she just handled Arthurian’s and kisses her a bit more gently and for not as long. She turns back to her husband hands on her hips. “Now, lets talk about our feelings. How did that make you feel? This,” She motions between the two of them. “is a partnership, they require input to function. If you are not okay with this,” she waves a hand between herself and Rabbit. “it goes no further than the kiss I just gave her.” She tilts her head waiting for an answer.

Rabbit watches Artherien's response, and a surprise look on her face happens at the kiss, she does respond partially but any sort of pleasure derived of it disappears quickly. She turned back towards Artherien studying him, and making a decision she turns back to Key, patting her on the hip in a friendly manner, "I am sorry if I am causing you or Artherien any confusion. I was merely trying to distract you from asking about what I had said. I truly didn't want to cause you two problems”
Rabbit looks back towards the door to the lower deck. "I forget that things work differently up here on the surface. Besides I don't know how the tree feels about things, or if there is anything there for the tree to feel."
She freezes as if she said something she didn't mean to. "I will be back up later, I will let the two of you talk. I suspect you two need to work things out on whatever." She motions absently between the two of them, "Whatever that is that is happening there."
