Te'teh laughs loudly.
“I speak very little. I know enough to ask for beer, ask if someone wants to have sex and to demand money."
Te’teh thinks about it, a large smile on her face.
”Oh and I learned 'new day' accidentally trying to tell someone I owed money to that I would pay them the next day.”

Key throws back her head and laughs. It takes a few minutes for her to catch her breath. Once she does she wipes tears from her eyes.
“I would never have been able to tell from the way you spoke. If you’d like to learn more, I’d be more than happy to teach you.”

Te'teh beams a large smile at Key, obviously finding the situation she was in just as funny as the elf.
“I would totally love that. I was trying to get Rabbit to teach me drow but she wouldn't really do much about it on our trip back from the desert. I figure if nothing else, if I learn Elven, that should work for both right?"

Luke nods, "I put things in place to keep everyone going, but I'm sure if I was gone long enough it would fall off. I'm kind of the driving force because poverty and suffering take up so much time, there's not much left for anything else."

Key chuckles.
“From the little bit I know, one doesn’t really lend itself to the other.”
She turns to Luke, the smile disappearing from her face.
“Will we make it back in time? Or will you need to play catch-up when we get there? Is there anything I can do to help?”

Te'teh watches her friends. A calm, but concerned look crosses her face.
“We need to establish something that can run while we are gone. Things are getting too important to let fall apart, but we can't necessarily hurry back every time."
Te'Teh gets a surprised look on her face as realization comes to her.
“We need to just try and make more use of the gate mages, especially traveling from Kokand to wherever we go. It is expensive to travel that way, but the timing could really helpl."

At the mention of teleportation Reggie perks up a bit. "Well I might be able to be of some assistance with that. Of course I would need to learn the proper sigil sequence and have the material components, and I'll need to get the proper scroll and transcribe the spell... but given some time I could procure a relatively inexpensive means of transportation to any location with a permanent circle, provided of course they are willing to allow me to study their sigil sequences."

Te'teh keeps looking around, as if she is expecting someone and seems a bit surprised when Reggie speaks up. She turns to face him, an eyebrow raised and a doubtful look.
“I can sadly tell you that won't happen. They keep that magic locked up tighter then a princess's chastity belt."
Te'Teh's face goes to a more serious look as she thinks.
“Gate magic is extremely valuable, worth a ton of gold and will get you hunted down by the mage's guild and especially the gate mages. I had a friend, very very good at what he did try with a group. They found him, and his group, skinned alive and placed upon the walls of the mages guild. Besides, even if you got it, they are going to hunt you down to protect their racket."

"Really?" Luke asks. "I had no idea about gate magic. I mean, I know the mages guild has several specialty rackets, that seem like nothing more than any other racket, but I hadn't heard about the gate one. Is this like a path of mage magic where they just open a gate on the fly? Anywhere anytime? or is it more like a full ritual? It sounds expensive, because they have a business plan built around it, but it's probably expensive anyways."
Luke sets down his drink, and raises his hand for the waitress to bring another round.

Te'Teh smiles at Luke, happy to be the one to teach this time.
“Oh they have Gate Guilds even. There are two in Kokand, but they are incredibly exclusive and most people can't afford it. Plus they are selective and I suspect can't gate as far as they advertise. I am told they can get on the fly as well, but I haven't ever seen that myself, just the gates that are like what we stepped through in Bhen Tharim. I could retire on the money I would make just stealing and selling gate magic capability."
A wistful look of being rich settles on her face.

Key watches the exchange with a pensive look.
“So basically what your saying is that,” she raises her hand and begins to tick off fingers. “1. Reggie can learn it on pain of death. 2. We go to the racket, I mean guild that does and let them slowly bleed is into poverty. 3. While they bleed us of coin, they will lie to us about where they are sending us. Because lets face it, we are going to be traveling some crazy long distances.”
She lowers her hand and pauses to think for a moment.
“ I think we may want to talk to the mages in Arborlon. We know they can teleport at least as far as from here to Arborlon. Maybe they have someone that’s willing to possibly live at the new house when we get it and set up a circle for us there.”

Reggie coughs and looks a little queasy at the mention of legal entanglements. "Well, while it's certainly possible I'm sure the city of Kokand might not like there being a secret circle within their walls. Also it takes about a year to set up a permanent circle. I do think it's a bit ridiculous though. After all, my master says the application of magic should be used for the benefit of all. I might be able to write him when I send my report and get a pass or something, although if these northern wizards are as barbaric as you suggest they may not honor the request. At the very least I should be able to get us back to the library and possibly to your home city from anywhere on this plane of existence. The components needed are a different story. Gem-infused ink is quite expensive and may be somewhat of a specialty item in this area. If you could get them at wholesale prices... hmm you might be able to create a permanent circle for about twenty thousand plus labor. However, if you start buying the inks people may start asking questions as you say. The inks are certainly available at the library but bringing them to Kokand would feel an awful lot like smuggling... I just wish I knew more about how the big guilds do things up there. I'm sorry." The gnome shrugs a little sheepishly.

A young serving girl comes up with refills for the table. After setting down the different drinks and food she sets down another sealed bottle. "Feistus, the owner of our establishment wanted me to present this to you". The serving girl points at the sealed bottle. "He says he can tell most of you are not sailors, and none of you are from around here so you probably aren't aware of it, but he wanted me to give you some Rakirina Destpêk to clean up with. Just make sure you rinse it off very well within five or ten minutes, or your skin will burn. It is definitely better then just trying to scrub yourself. It is used a lot by blacksmiths to get off powdered iron, or dockworkers who work cleaning out the bilges."She turns to Keyleth, "Could I get you anything else m'lady?"SERVING GIRL

Luke takes the bottle of Rakirina, and makes a puzzles look, "What is the difference from this and soap? I am definitely not from here, so I'm unsure. . . Wait. does everyone think we stink like a bilge?" Luke leans over and sniff's Te'Teh, then himself in alarm.

Te'Teh just glares at Luke as he sniffs her.
“Oh my god, I actually showered today, haven't drank and I have been a good girl. "
She looks at the container of cleaner, sniffs annoyedly.
