Kalil seems less nervous around the Empress and shakes his head. "Our sleeping patterns are different in the desert. We often sleep during the warmest parts of the day and tend to sleep less at night where it is cooler. I think I can get a break later depending on our meetings and what is required of me."

He seems a little red-faced, "I also am not sure a guard would help..."

Key nods in agreement at both the things that Rabbit said then turns back to Kalil.

“I’ll also talk with the girls if you would like. Breaks from all kinds of activity would be a good thing Im sure.” She gives him a warm smile.

“Do you have any questions for me?”

Key looks over to Rabbit then back to Kalil.

“I figured that was the case. Its nice to have confirmation though. Thank you.” She dipps her head in thanks.

“I think they are either looking for weeknesses or to see if Im lying about how I said I entend to rule.”

Key watches the exchange. She pauses gathering her thoughts.

“Understood. What was that about? You need to teach my that sign language.” She turns to Kalil.

“Im sorry if I’ve made you uncomfortable. I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t a repeat of the egregious behavior at the dock. You also said you might have questions for me and I also wanted you to know that I will make every effort to make myself available to do so when you have them.” She gives him a serene smile.

Key smiles.

“I am more than happy to start talks with you. If we run into something that you may need to speak with your tribe about first then we can cross that bridge when we come to it. Are there any customs I need to observe?

Key’s eyes dance with challenge and her eyebrow climb into her hairline.

“Well let’s begin then. I must say that you are the first of what may be many such negotiations.” She leans back and her mouth kicks up at the corner.
