Anglerond steps back from Key with a look of surprise and then admiration at Key’s resistance. Then a slightly more intrigued look overcomes him. While still listening to Te’Teh politely his gaze just watches Key intently.
"Key is right, the world changes quickly. When you are ready you should grab what interests you and see where things fall.."

The smug smile on Key’s face only gets larger with her victory. She shoots Anglerond a look that said quite clearly ‘told you’. She looks back to Te’Teh.
“You still may want to have some sort of conversation so that there are no misunderstandings. It will save both of you later.”

Te'Teh has a pensive look on her face.
“Maybe, I would rather Jack approach me, it has been 100% propelled by me so far and I would like some sign he likes me more than a bed warmer. But I will consider what you say.”

Anglerond notices the smug look, and with not a break in his smile seems to notice something on Key’s papers. He leans over her, incredibly close, close enough she can feel his very warm body heat. However his body doesn’t touch her at all. He spends a few moments looking at the papers and making approving grunts.

“I understand where you are coming from. Im just adding my two bits. Feel free to disregard my advice. Its not like my track record has been stellar.”
She shifts her focus to the man in her personal space. She takes him in for a moment before speaking with more than a bit of humor filled disapproval.
“Did I do okay? Maybe you should do this for me. Im obviously lacking a man to do all the important things for me.” She lifts a hand slowly, then flicks his ear. She gives him a level look owning the space she is in. A smile curls up the corners of her mouth.

Anglerond stays still as Key watches him, and the surprise is evident when she flicks his ear. As he backs up, holding his ear in a confused manner but his eyes even more intensely interested in the monk girl.
Still holding his ear he erupts into a booming laughter, tears welling up in his eyes as he takes a few moments to regain his composure , all the while chuckling.
"My dear, unless you want a fortified fire base awaiting an assault I am not a person who can make any designs. All I can do is tell you some specific rooms/buildings we might need. You are far superior to me in many many ways, and designing a home is absolutely one of them. I did not mean to imply otherwise.”

Te'Teh freezes and remains quiet as the scene between two elves unfold. She seems unsure if they are going to laugh, fight or fuck.

She elbows Anglerond, still smiling.
“Damn straight I am.” Her expression sobers just a bit.
“But seriously, please, if there is anything you can suggest Im all ears. I can make educated guesses but this is actually the first time Ive done this. I also want it to be a place where we are all comfortable living.”
She motions toward the parchment in invitation.

Anglerond sits down, moving Te'Teh's drink out of the way. Still chuckling he moves papers around.
"I mean it when I say I suck at designing. I also can't repair buildings, they usually take the hammer away from me. However, let's write down a list..”

Te'Teh smiles at the two others in front of her, she sits down and starts to drink.

Key takes the chair next to Anglerond.
“I really just want to make sure that what Im doing isn’t going to leave a gaping whoke in our defenses.” She pulls the design over so she can show him what she’s done so far.
“The land is on a jetty. There is a lighthouse near the cliff. Main house will be against the cliff with a wall and gate at the opposite boundary here.” She points to illustrate.
“Barracks and stables closest to the main gate. Shall I go on?”
Key takes a deep breath and lets it out.
“Thanks for being willing to take on all this. I know it can’t be easy for you.”

Anglerond looks up at Keyleth unsure which part she is referring, when a sadness deep in his eyes flashes out, and for a few moments he appears as a warrior in the fall of his life, with many bad decisions behind him.
"I worry about him a lot. He is young, he was my charge. It is my duty to train him, guide him, and I completely failed him on that part. That has impacted you, and caused this pain on you. I cannot express how sorry I am for that failure.”
Almost as soon as it was there, Anglerond puts the mask back on and his jovial demeanor returns.
"However a tankard of ale, two very pretty ladies sitting with me, while I am well fed and warm means life is good.”

Te'Teh watches Anglerond and Keyleth. When his smile returns she scoots next to him on the other side from Keyleth, leans against him playfully.
"I would prefer to drink with my friends, then do just about anything else. I am always willing to be a pretty lady sitting here."

All the light drains from Keys face. She places a hand on his and looks him in the eye.
“I don’t blame the teacher for the students failings. The Old Arthurian is in there somewhere. He’s just lost right now. Besides, I think a bit of that blame should land squarely on my shoulders as well. There isn’t much we can do about any of it. So, another worry for another day.”
She shakes her head as if exiting a trance. She orders more drinks for her friends.
“Have you had a chance to see much of the city yet?”

Anglerond shakes his head emphatically.
“No. absolutely not. You did nothing wrong. You volunteered to help a friend. You could do nothing to change him. What is inside him was set in stone long before you ever met him.
You are the victim not the person responsible, don’t ever think otherwise. You are going to rule the biggest nation in the realms, this is a good time to learn that lesson. You can’t take personal responsibility for everything.”
His smile returns, a truly happy look as he looks into Key’s eyes. A large smirk grows in his face.
"I haven’t seen the city recently, but when I was younger I frequented a lot of the places of ill-repute.”
