Nestrim is leaning over a half a dozen books scattered on the table, light music playing in the background from the crystal chime on the fireplace mantle. Several candles burning as he references a small leather journal against the materials written in those books.

Key enters the room just loud enough so that she doesn’t scare her brother as she approaches. She pulls out a chair and sits, letting a bit of the serene mask fall away to reveal the discontent beneath. She waits patiently for him to be at a stopping point.

Nestrim continues reading for a moment, glancing to the side as he does so a curious expression comes up to his face. Once he catches a break in the writing he marks his journal and sets it down and sits in a chair near Key.
"Are you ok sister? Did something happen?"

She leans back in her chair and throws her feet up onto the table, taking care to avoid his work.
“Anglerond and I had a pretty sizable argument. He doesn’t agree with some of the things I plan to do when I become a ruler. Most specifically the things regarding the drow.” She takes a dagger from her hip and starts to clean under her nails.
“I told him that I plan to take in any drow of any cast that wants to start a new life away from the underdark and away from the evil that can happen there. Understandably he was upset. He didn’t think I was listening to him and he clearly wasn’t listening to me.”

Nestrim makes a small motion with his hand and the music dims in the room. He cocks his head and sets a crystal glass in front of himself and an extra one not quite in front of Key in case she isn't interested. He then pulls a bottle of elven wine out of the holder and pours himself some deftly. He then pours some into the lonely glass that seems to be waiting for anyone to come by to drink it.
The entire time he says nothing, listening to his sister and finally watching her. Not wanting to stop her or influence what she is saying he merely nods at her indicating he is listening.

She looks at the glass for a moment then picks it up and sips at the contents. She twirls the stem in her fingers as she speaks.
“I want to build a kingdom where any elf from anywhere can live. I also believe that everyone deserves a second chance no matter where they used to live or what they’ve done. Is it to much to ask? Im going to be the queen of all of the elves, even the drow.” She looks up at Nestrim.
“He was upset that Rabbit had used her ‘blood money’ to help build the manor and I wasn’t upset about it.” She takes another gulp of the wine in her glass and goes quiet.

Nestrim watches his sister and as she begins to exhaust her words he takes a sip, enjoying the taste before he looks at her.
"You are doing a great thing, I admire your ideals, and to be honest I benefit from it so I would be a hypocrite to counsel you against it. It is what our people need."
He takes a deeper sip from his glass,
"That being said, the reality is very unlikely. Our peoples have been at war for ten thousand or more years. I am ignoring any sort of religion or divine push. War would have to stop for the lifespan of our people in order to have a real chance to become closer. It may not be that long if the Drow's lifespan stays so short, we might be able to encourage them in sooner, but every elf who has lost family, or lost relatives or ancestors will scream for blood. I think you can turn that, but it is a long time, and it won't be a clean contest. You will win out, but a lot of people will maintain their hatred and utilize it in the background."
He looks at his sister, "What do you feel about Rabbit, don't give me any sort of rehearsed quote about acceptance, we both know that. Is there anything she could have done in the past you couldn't forgive? Once you establish that, you can gauge how far your resolve will go."

She downs the rest of the glass and sets it on the table.
“I don’t expect the whole drow nation to join me en mass. But I’d like tonleave the door open for those who want it. There isn’t anything in Rabbits past that I couldn’t forgive her for. Nothing she did there was in her nature. She did what she had to to survive in a deadky, brutal world. Im sure she isn’t the only drow to feel like that.” She sighs deeply.
“Another thing that worries me is that Anglerond can’t exept what Im doing. I know he will be loyal and honor any vow. But Im affraid his feelings will make him bitter and resentful. I don’t want to do that to him.”

Nestrim's eyes give away nothing as he speaks. "There are two separate issues and I will try to address both, but let's start with the easiest."
"Are you sure Anglerond can't accept what you are doing? It sounds more like he accepts you are doing it and still following you. He believes in you and that is all he wants. He hated what a lot of our family did, but he was always loyal to us. He would have been a knight if he allowed my father to knight him. He can separate his feelings from his duty. Besides, you are making a judgment on what he can or can't handle, he is an adult and he can decide."
He takes a deeper sip from his glass,
"You are starting to sound like you are going to make a decision for him instead of letting him make that decision. If you want to be true to both of you, you continue your path and you let him make that decision. If at any point he wants out he can always leave. He won't though, because he obviously cares for you and that is his choice. I hope you are someone who doesn't believe in making other people's choices for them, I suspect not, but people can change."
He sits back, obvious he won't ask about Rabbit until this is talked out.

She sits and thinks for a long moment. She finally looks up at Nestrim.
“Im not making any decisions for him. He serves if he wants tonI made that extraordinarily clear. But Your right about one thing, Im making unfair assumptions. I need to let this go until it’s an actual problem and deal with it then.” She plays with the glass on the table
“Could you finish up those documents for him? I’ll give them to him when they are done.”

He smiles at his sister, pulls out two proclamations and finishes up the text, stands up and hands it to Key. He then says softly to her. "Things have been really rough for you for awhile. You have done a great job. Just enjoy the good parts, the bad works itself out eventually."
He leans over and kisses her forehead before sitting back down.

She looks over the parchment and then slides them into her bag.
“Thank you. I hope you will tell me if Im not.” She sighs and with the exhalation she seems to grow lighter.
“On to business. Anglerond will stay and be your second. That being said, he wants to go to the island and to the ritual with us. I thought that maybe Sohban would be the best choice to look over things here whike we are gone. He has always taken care of the Silken Fist and he has the most to loose, besides Rabbit, if anything happens. What do you think?”

He nods at her. "Sobhan is a good choice. I trust him, I just want someone on a day to day basis with me I have no doubts. However, I think it would be fine to have Anglerond go with you to the Island and the meeting. He is a good warrior so we will have more protection and that isn't bad. Are you going to have Rabbit approach him about it?"

Key nods.
“I thought I might. Unless you want to do it. Should I contact Mother? Will she need to adjust her list of who’s going again?”

He gives her small smile. "I had already built up a space for him. I was pretty sure the new couple would want to be together. Are you ok now with Anglerond? is he changing his name or title?"
