Luke smiles at everyone, “The families that own the Warrens are not pleasant. If we could buy bits and pieces without them knowing, maybe if you all would act like separate buyers under different names?”
He smirks, “I’m not worried about enemies but then maybe we could sell it to the people who live in it for cost, letting them pay is back over time. Low or no interest?”

“I like both of those ideas. Im also okay with selling it to them interest free. We could also go for a longer time frame so that payments are smaller. Maybe we could find a single real-estate broker that could act on our behalf as multiple buyers? Im not sure who Sobhan used to buy our property, maybe he would do?”

"That's an idea. It would definitely work best if we had different faces, so that they didn't know it was us doing it," Luke agrees.

Key tilts her head thinking.
“Maybe we could hire a few people from the warrens?”

Rabbit watches the conversation for a few minutes, then she squishes up and over the table, writing something down. She looks up at Luke.
"I would suggest we go to Sobhan. He handles this stuff personally all the time, both in his personal deals and with the House of the Red Silken Glove. He has experts familiar with real estate and info on all the owners. He would still charge a small fee, but it would be nominal, he would do this for what he considers for free. You just need to tell him what you want."

"Let's talk to him, because he might know more about the situation here than I do. I just know these people are not good people," Luke says. "He might have resources."

Key takes her quill back from Rabbit with a playful snatch.
“Sounds good to me. Maybe we should focus on grabbing space near where our tunnels will enter the Warrens so that if there is trouble we can be there quickly?” She looks up at Rabbit.
“Where exactly is that?”

Rabbit bats playfully back at Key, she then stops and smiles "I have tunnel access from where our new house goes, that will get us under the warrens. We can't buy access directly until we buy something and i might recommend having Sobhan buy here.. here... and here...."
She notices the blank look on her friends faces, pulling a fresh sheet of paper she steals the pen back and sketches out what appear to be several lines. She points to the top line. "This top line represents the surface" She then scrawls a second line, "This represents the sewer that connects directly to all sections of the city. All waste, overflow, etc are passed under here. There our thousands of tunnels down here, if you know what you are doing you can stay untouched. However, not a good place to leave with the bugs, rats, and sickness from the waste."
She then draws a third line below the second. "This is the under city. It only covers portions of the city and is connected by tunnels. There are a lot of areas down here unexplored that you can build to, and live in. It is dangerous but not the worst place of the city."
She then takes and draws a fourth, fifth and sixth line, "The represent three more levels. This is how far I purchased under your house, for access, or to expand. You will travel these floors most often. They aren't full of waste generally, the ruins of the old city was built on itself multiple times. Each location doesn't necessarily have three of these levels, they vary. These are also not generally considered adventuring levels. You can buy more if needed."
She then draws a large zig zag squiggle. "This represents the literally dozens and maybe hundreds of levels even further below. These are the guild levels and you have to earn your way down to buy sections, or discover it. I have purchased all the space below your land down to the sixth level. I have then purchased multiple lines across the city, small corridors so we can get out if needed. I have three spots in the warrens. We can then go up to the sewer level and from there enter the warren through one of dozens of entrances."
She sits back, winded by her quick but not so quick explanation.

Luke looks over Rabbits explanations, and kind of stutters, "Um. . uh. . . as a surface dweller this is all new to me. I knew there were tunnels under us, but I had no real idea."
He traces the stuff rabbit indicated she bought, "How long have you been buying under land tunnels?"

Key turns to face Rabbit.
“That’s a really good question. Also couldn’t be a cheep endeavor to undertake.”

Rabbit's looks at the two of them, raises an eyebrow at the slurping of Te'Teh and returns her gaze. "I owned a lot of the tunnels to begin with, I use it extensively for a lot of work for the last 30 plus years."
While she is talking her face becomes more flat as she thinks about it. "I needed unfettered access between the different areas, I found it was easier to secure passage. I have enough that I can afford to let one or even a few uncovered and still continue to operate." She doesn't seem to be able to look at Luke in the eyes, "I have learned many ways to get up into the sewer level, and from there get into pretty much any building in the city. In addition to what I did for my mother, Sobhan had me train a lot and I am good at it. Besides that is how I am a good 'guide' when I was brought in to the team."
She picks up a large cup of wine and downs it, a smile returning, mostly.

Luke gauges Rabbits shift in mood, and says, "Well, regardless of your past and how you acquired them, it sounds like it might be put to a good cause now. As long as I don't have to get wet, I'm find with tunnels."
He tentatively reaches out to rest his hand over hers at the table.

Key smiles at Rabbit reassuringly.
“That’s pretty amazing! So we could go all over the city and pop up wherever we wanted?” Her face goes dreamy.
“We’ll never have to be stuck in the press of bodies on a crowded city street again.”

As Luke's hands grasp hers, she grips back and her face visibly softens, tension springs unwinding. "We have many tunnels under there. Be careful though, things still find their way into the lower levels so don't go unarmed. However it is a good way to move a queen, or a group of hunted people through the city. I will get you two the maps I have. I know where things are in my head, but if something happens to me I don't want to leave you all hanging."
She pulls Luke's hand up to her small mouth and kisses it several times lightly, the happiness from the prior evening returning to her eyes.

Luke just smiles down at the short elf. He doesn't really care about he conversation, but says, "Yeah. Copies would be helpful for this of us that don't know the tunnels. Is there a way to block the tunnels so they are just a point A to point B thing, or too much work?"
