Luke wakes up a few hours later. The candles had mostly burned down but he can make out Izzy’s sleeping form form sprawled across the bed next to him, snoring softly with the blankets half falling off of her.
He looks down at his own chest. A small drow body lays on him, watching him intently. Her naked body pressed against him, no tension in her body, and in fact she is laying as if she can’t touch enough of him at one time.
Her blue eyes glow softly in the dark. She stops breathing and her eyes seem to get much bigger in interest when she catches him moving and a form of excited happiness seems to exude from her. She just lays there on top of him waiting.
// darkvision is viable because the iris gives off its own light that their eyes can use in the underdark. This results in a low level glow that comes from creatures eyes that have dark vision.

Luke snorts at Rabbit's cat-like interest in his movements. "Are you sure you aren't going to Sekhmet, with all of that?" He asks with a smirk, then wraps an arm around her to hold her.

Rabbit melts into his embrace, closing her eyes happily. She lays there for a little while listening to him breathing when one eye opens watching him.
"You tell me stories about cats and Sekhmet's adventures. I very much enjoy that. Could you start telling me about her religion? I am curious, I hear things you mention, and what Te'Teh says but it is very scattered."

"Well, Te'Teh is a believer but she's not a listener, so don't get your stories from her. She's got a great heart, but until she pulls herself out of a bottle I think she might give you a garbled view of things," Luke says. "I will read to you, what I learned, as I came into it. It's not a rule heavy religion. There are some basics, and some tactics we favor. However those tactics suit my temperament, and are more like general suggestions."
"I will read the first treatise I ever read. It's from the book Divine Beginnings. It was written by Sesu Sedren. She collected a lot fo oral traditions about the time Sekhmetian followers started to come together rather than wander individually. It's called On Divine Justice in the form of Trickery. It's mostly just a guide to the use of trickery to avoid outright confrontation. She uses all this lofty wording, but it's a way to get justice for the wronged without getting caught. It's all about subverting the system to get what needs done, done. I like it for obvious reasons. I think she chose such lofty language as a joke."
He reaches his long arms across her to his pack, ruffles around in it until by feel he comes up with the small book he was looking for. He pulls it up, and holds it over her head. The ambient light drifting in from the camp is more than enough for his eyes to read the script. He starts reading, emphasizing the barbs and jokes embedded in the religious text.

Luke continues to read from the book for some time. At some point Rabbit had laid her head sideways on Luke and was watching him speak. Her eyes half lidded as she seemed about as relaxed as she could get. Every time he thinks she might have fallen asleep he notices her ears seem to be tracking every word, twitching occasionally if his tone changes or demeanor shifts.
Luke then notices Izzy’s breathing has changed and that she is watching him while he reads from the book. Specifically she seems to be watching the interaction between him and Rabbit, curiosity on her face.

"I thought these would be the most interesting to someone with a Drow's background. You can't always fight things toe to toe because there is a deep difference in power structures. Sometimes the only way to exact what is just and right from those that hold a corrupt power is to change the rules. Everyone expects you to play by the rules, but that's because it benefits those in power. When you decide to play the game your own way, you have gained power out from under those that would oppress you. Sekhmet likes to protect the weaker and heal the sick, however she's also keenly interested in leveling the playing field for everyone," Luke explains.
"My talents as a Tiefling are not suited to a more straight and narrow god. I have a lot of devil blood, and fallen celestials are often given to manipulating the truth and speaking in paradoxes of truth. I do the best I can with what I have, and my unique perspective works for Sekhmet," He says. "It's not without its own issues. There are clerics and priests that want to 'clean up' Sekhmet's image. I haven't been home since I was made a Paladin, but I'm sure that won't sit well. Salkya is more like me, from a rough background. Sekhmet is what she is. I'm sure part of her making me a paladin was to spite the entire notion that part of her nature needed to be swept under the rug."
"You are under no obligation to ever worship her, or take part. I like your interest, because I can share such a big part of my life with you, but there is never any obligation for you," Luke says. "She favors you, though. She is the one that sings to you on the island. She told me that Lolth tried to sing to you when she started, but she seemed amused and derisive of the attempt. I doubt the good singing you heard came from Lolth."
He looks down at her, and says, "You should have been a high priestess. You have the power, and the gods court you, not the other way around. Lolth, Corellon, and Sekhmet all look after you in their own way. I suspect Lolth is desperate to have you back, and I wonder if that has manifested in your mothers fortunes? Throwing away someone with the ability to walk easily into high priestess-hood, or paladin-ship, all to protect her own power? That can't have made a volatile goddess like Lolth happy."

Izzy remains quiet the whole time, something about Rabbit being happy and focusing so intently on Luke makes Izzy relaxed, but there seems to be a small spike of jealousy. Whether it is that Rabbit looks at Luke like that, or if Luke seems more interested in Rabbit is hard to determine. Either way there is a sense of satisfaction coming from Izzy
IZZY
Rabbit seems embarrassed for a few moments about the words of being a cleric or paladin. Even embarrassed she doesn't stop watching Luke with an intensity. She pulls herself up Luke's chest, her face above Luke's with only a couple inches separation between their lips. "That is the nature of my people, they say only the strong survive but I know it isn't like that. Don't get me wrong, my mother is incredibly powerful, but she never thinks about the future, or how someone can help her other than what they can do directly that doesn't threaten her."
She cocks her head, "You mentioned you were happy to talk to me about Sekhmet because you can share a large part of your life with me. I do want to hear about Sekhmet, she has me thinking and to be honest she is the most appealing. I don't know if I could do what Key does and not follow, it has been part of my life for over four centuries. However, I want you to know I want you to share as much of your life as you are willing to give me. It doesn't matter if I can follow or understand"
In a guttural tone she leans over to his left ear and whispers in his ear "Usstan ssinssrigg dos, dos jatha'la lorug."
Luke recognizes the word Rabbit uses that means a tree (lorug). He does notice Izzy freeze when she hears Rabbit's words. A look of uncertainty flitting across her face to disappear behind a placid exterior.

"You pick words I don't know yet on purpose, don't you?" Luke says. "However, you mother may have misjudged. It's not every day someone comes along that can hold the interest of three very different gods."
He then looks to Izzy, "So tell me, how are Rabbit's mother's fortunes with Lolth? I am betting there is some family gossip there. You don't throw away a person like Rabbit every day."

Izzy sits up, not shy as her chest is exposed. She smiles gently at Luke as she thinks. Eventually she starts speaking., "you may have something Luke. She is still the most blessed of all the matrons, the most powerful. However her daughter Amal has been rapidly gaining ground. Rabbit’s mom has tripled her sacrifices and raids to give to Lolth. Maybe it’s to try and appease for Rabbit?"
IZZY Rabbit is remarkably quiet about the comment of using specific language that Luke doesn’t understand. She doesn’t look at him directly as he utters the words. She listens and idly kisses Luke’s neck and chest as Izzy speaks. She looks up when Izzy has stopped talking, "She may be pushing sacrifices so she can keep Amal at a distance or she might be trying to make a move soon. Lolth won’t keep blessing her if she doesn’t make up for whatever Lolth thinks she did wrong.”

Luke shrugs ineffectual under Rabbit, "Could be. You'd know more Ethan me, but if she was secure in her power, she wouldn't be tripling her sacrifices, right?"
He ruffles Rabbits hair, and smiles down at her.

Izzy smirks as Rabbit attempts to distract Luke.
IZZY Rabbit nods, "Mother would only do that for two reasons. The most likely is she is in trouble and desperate. The second is a big opportunity is coming and she is moving quick. I think you are right though. You are probably happy that you don’t have to deal with my mother anyways, she is horrible to her kid’s partners.”
she gives Luke a playful shove.

Luke smiles, "I guess I'll have to get up soon, and be an appropriate member of the elven court, as much as a Tiefling can be. I want to talk to your sister, though." Luke smiles, but it's more of an amused smirk. "I think I could work with that situation."
