Rabbit wandered into the Red Veil, a soft smile on her face that got a little bigger when she saw the gruff, bald Zade standing behind the bar nodding to her and poured her a drink. She walked over to Zade and ordered some mutton and soup.
Turning, she took the drink off the bar and sat herself in the far corner booth of the taproom. There she opened a pouch and pulled out a small, nondescript silver flute, and some silver polish. She began what seemed an effortless process of cleaning it. RABBIT

Key wanders in and over to the bar. She stands there for a moment talking with the big bartender. After he leaves she waits for a few minutes until a glass of water and a meal is set in front of her, she picks up her dishes and turns to find a place to sit. She spots Rabbit and walks over to her table. "Do you mind of I sit?"

Rabbit studies the elf uncertainly for a moment. Her eyes glance over Key's body and after a moment her expression changes and she smiles up at the elf for a moment, then nods towards the seat beside her.
"Of course you can Key."
She moves her stuff to the side so it won't be in the way.
"It is nice to be able to sit with you when we aren't plotting a job or trying to take out bandits." RABBIT

Key nods. "It is. It's hard to have a conversation in the heat of the moment. But such moments also give you insight into the personality dont you thing?" she takes a bit of her meal and smiles at Rabbit.

"It does, and we definitely have an interesting group to work with"
Rabbit's eyes slide off of Key and gaze around the rest of the room before returning to her.
"Your a monk, I haven't met many elven monks. Especially from what looks like a non-elven monastery. There must be a story there."
Rabbit leans over and takes a sip of her drink while waiting for Key to respond.

Key swallows a sip of water and sets her cup down. “Not much of a story really, I think that mostly I was driving my parents crazy. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do with myself. The only thing I was remotely interested in was weapons. The Order had a monestary near where lived so my parents packed me up and sent me. I went for the weapons training. What the brothers and sisters gave me was a calling. They tought me to be selfless.” She shrugs, almost uncomfortable. “How about you?”

Rabbit shrugs slightly, as she gives Key a crooked smile as if it was a funny joke.
"You know, the usual. I was born into a Priestess family in the Underdark. I was raised to be a priestess and a surface hunter, but they discovered I was marked by Correllon and before my family could be dishonored or I get put to death, I decided to leave."
She watches the elf carefully,
"I then found an entertainer troupe, and traveled for over a decade playing the flute and singing... and perhaps a bit of dancing as well. Eventually I found my calling and came here. Plus, I didn't really like worshipping Lolth, wasn't my style."
She takes a sip, as a surprised look crosses her face, as if she hadn't expected to tell Key so much. RABBIT

Key smiles and tilts her head. "Is that usual? To be called to a different God? I mean does it happen a lot?" She takes another bit of her food taking her eyes from the Woman in front of her.

Rabbit actually chuckles into her drink.
"I dare say it isn't normal. My mom tried to keep it under wraps while I was very young, going so far as to put a second spider on my neck so it was obvious who I was touched by."
Rabbit's eyes trace along Key's visage before returning to her eyes,
"Things were awkward and difficult when I came of age as a young adult. That is partially why I worked so hard as a hunter, trying to prove my worth. The whole time though I knew it was a lie, I was not part of the Spider Goddess and it felt... wrong."
Her smile got larger when the server sets down Rabbit's meal in front of her. RABBIT

Key takes a few more bites of her meal contemplating what Rabbit said. She looks up her expression soft. "It must have been hard. Do you still have contact with any of your family? I couldn't imagine not being able to talk with my parents."

Rabbit gives a half hearted chuckle and looks down at her plate..
"If I was recognized and taken back to my city I would be taken to the altar to Lolth after being beaten and abused for days. There they would keep me alive as they sliced me open from groin to throat. I would probably be kept there for hours if not days begging to die until they finally cut off my marks, and burnt me on the altar, consigning my soul to Lolth forever."
She watches the elf carefully,
"My people are not compassionate, its about power and about establishing yourself in the hierarchy. There is some love there, but any compassion or love happens in the dark, behind closed doors where no one else can see. Even then it is kept to a minimum. It is always seen as a weakness. It has made it a little hard for me sometimes understanding people up here on the surface."
She leans over takes a small bite of food.
"That being said, I like it better up here. There is a part of me that likes the emotion, the friendship that I see. I also like the singing and dancing and intimacy that happens up here"
She gives Key a broad smile at that.

Key blanches at Rabbits detailed description. She shoves her half empty bowl a bit farther away from her as she lostens to the tail. “Well Im very glad your here, I hope I never find myself in that dreadful place. If you dont mind Im going to change the subject a bit, just so I can finish my dinner.” She looks down at her bowl and then up at Rabbit with laughter in her eyes.

Rabbit nods to the elf.
"It sounds like you are still in contact with your parents. Do you go visit them? Also, what do you do for fun around here?"
